I have spent the last 12 years tutoring both in the UK and Africa. This role has given me an incredible experience teaching Mathematics and Science, giving me the chance to experience two departments with their intricacies and different methods of working. My role gradually evolved to include liaising with regional administrations to network more students from the UK to provide services to developing communities. My responsibilities include: • Designing lessons for KS3 and 4 • Designing end-of-topic assessments • Using data to track pupil progress across KS3 • Liaise with the head of Science to ensure targets were being met • Lead on curriculum enrichment schemes such as ‘Literacy in Mathematics’ • Give lectures in school using my healthcare experiences to give students an insight into careers within the healthcare sector.
